My in-depth pieces tend to offer a rare and often exclusive glimpse into difficult-to-reach places and have featured embeds with Iran-aligned groups, on-the-ground reporting from Turkish-controlled parts of northern Iraq and several trips inside rebel-held parts of South Sudan.

From 2019 - 2021, I was Al Jazeera English’s Iraq correspondent based in Baghdad. Traveling across the country, I reported extensively on the longterm impact of the war against ISIS, the so-called “October Revolution” and how US-Iran tensions pushed the country to the brink of war.

As a self-shooting correspondent, I reported for France24’s English channel from Iraq, South Sudan, Sudan and Ethiopia. My reports include exclusives from rebel areas in South Sudan, embeds with Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq and frontline dispatches during the battle for Mosul.
